"What the heck happened to Sunday?" I said.

As I got ready to go to work, I checked my phone for [[emails]], [[texts]], or anything that dated Sunday. It had been a long week but there was no way I slept for a whole day, although, it did smell a bit funny. I was so caught up trying to remember the previous day that I put on the wrong jacket. I took it off quickly and threw it to the bed, the sound of paper crumpling in its [[pockets]].

"It is Monday, November..." the phone started.

"I'm going, I'm going," I said. I put on my work jacket, locked the apartment, and headed to my car. I drove to...

[[< go back->Wake up]]
I headed to work knowing full well I was late. I parked on the very back as everyone else had already filled out the lot. I took the elevator to the 4th floor. There I found my boss talking to someone else in his office. I let myself in

"Time you got here, don't you think $result?" said Mr. Smith.

"Sorry, my alarm woke me up at an strange hour and..."

"Any idea where Michael is?" he asked.

"Ahh, well, he..."

"Doesn't matter, we have to get on this case now," he continued, "as you read in the email I sent you, a family friend was murdered yesterday."

"Sorry for your loss, Jefe." said the other guy in the room

"Thank you, Jacob" said the boss.

"Sorry, who is this guy?" I asked.

"Right," sais Mr. Smith. "$result I want you to meet Jacob. He's works with my wife in the lab. Figure he'd be useful for the investigation."

"How she holding up, tu mujer?" asked Jacob.

"Good, I think," answered Mr. Smith."Unfortunately I don't have much time to check on her, and the time I do have somehow I just forget."

"The case, boss," I urged him.

"This family friend was working on something big," the boss said. "A drug, I'm afraid. I think he was killed because of it."

"That sounds terrible, boss," I added, "but why make us drop our current cases?"

"Because this isn't any drug," he answered. "I have reasons to believe there's immediate effects with this drug that affect the brain. Can be used as a weapon, in the wrong hands"

"Don't worry, Jefe," said Jacob, "We'll make sure it doesn't."

"We have access to the scene once the local police clears it. I'll let you know when to proceed," said the boss.

Jacob exited the room and I followed behind, but Mr. Smith stopped me.

I entered Starbucks though its side door. It was surprisingly busy for this time in the morning. I skipped the long line that was formed and addressed the cashier.

"I need a moment," I said.

"Sir, please, wait for your turn," said the cashier.

"CID agent," I said as I showed him my batch. "A moment please."

The cashier looked at the batch for a second. Then he asked another worker to take over for him while he moved to a side to talk to me.

"How can I help?" asked the cashier.

"I came here yesterday, around 5:28 apparently," I said as I took the wrinkled receipt from my pocket. "I got the receipt here, maybe you can tell me who took my order."

"Okay... give me a second."

As the cashier inputted numbers to the computer, I looked around and saw all the line of costumers looking my way. I've got used to that, happens everytime I show my batch.

"Got it. It was Javi Perez who attended you yesterday," said the cashier.

"Great, can I talk to him? Is he here now?"

"He actually quitted yesterday," said the cashier.

"What? Why?"

"Apparently some tension with a costumer got him scared," said the cashier. "Does that have to do with this."

"That's what I'm going to find out," I responded. "Can you tell me where he lives?"

"Yeah, I should be able to find it somewhere. Would you like a mocha while you wait?"

"I don't like mochas," I said.

"What's going on?", I asked.

"I think the boss it's up to something bad," answered Michael as he paced around the room. "Really bad."

[[< go back->Wake up]]Here's the description of the story and what the story will be about:
You’re a detective that wakes up with amnesia. There’s been a murder and it is your job to cooperate with your detective partner to find out what happened, interviewing the victim’s relatives, talking to witnesses, and gathering clues from the location where the body was found. You find out you were somehow involved in the murder and that some people have been playing you. You need to discover what really happened and who you can trust. The story changes depending on what you choose to pay attention to, what questions you choose to ask, and what things you choose to say or save to yourself.

[[go back->Bathroom]]
"This is what I've gathered from my investigation. There reason why I was out yesterday is because I was following Michael's lead when I must have had been captured or something. I don't quite remembered because I was drugged with this. I woke up at my apartment at 5:28. I didn't set my alarm at that time. Then I got your email informing me about the murder in 528 st. I also had a receipt on me from Starbucks that dated yesterday. It was impregnated with "528" references. More importantly, it had a message on the back that told me not to trust Michael. By the way, Michael is alive, and he told me he suspected you, boss, were the one behind this mess of a scheme. When I investigated at Starbucks, I discovered a woman had forced an employee, a latino guy, to write the receipt up with all the "528" in it. Moreover, the employee himself was surrounded in some shady business, I could tell. Michael's lead was a latino guy. Then I get here and Jacob tells me to separate and that I should look upstairs. I knew the code because someone who knew it wanted me to know it subconsciously. I've been framed, boss. And I think I know who did it."

"Ja, que cosas." Me pregunto si esto tiene que ver con lo que dijo Ocarino

Me despedí de Edo. Me pregunto sí los maestros que el mencionó son los mismos de los que hablaba Ocarino. Bueno, no importa.

Y me reí demasiado. Ya era tarde.

Sin decir nada más, me alejé de Ocarino y me fui.
